Father's Day 2010

Father's Day - Sunday, 4 September 2010
History was made at EFKS Ranui on Father's Day with the EFKS Ranui Youth Group conducting the full service for the very first time on the special occasion.
The youth group, or autalavou is led by the Rev Etisone Gafa and his wife Henrietta.
The service, from start to finish, was taken by representatives of families from the church. It was a wonderful achievement for our youth group, who were formed some two years ago.
Vanesa Mulu was the ta'ita'i, Mareko Mareko gave a stirring sermon and they were ably assisted by bible readers, Christopher Taito and Richard Mulu and the prayer representatives, Panapa Fa'aeteete, Makerita Sa'u and Ianita Mareko.
The service was followed by a couple of songs from the youth and a lovely rendition of "You are My Sunshine" from the Mareko Trio (Tini, Ianita and Soteria!) which preceded the traditional presentation of necklaces and a little gift from the EFKS Ranui Women's Fellowship for the fathers who were present.
All in all, it was a wonderful day full of highlights and a sense of history that church minister, Rev Iatua Mulu was very proud to witness.

More Photos from the 10-Pin Bowling trip

The kids had fun at the Macca's playground. This little chappie is playing spaceships - I think....

Anyone would thing the EFKS Ranui youth were a bunch of posers....

You'd be right!

Even the kids had fun.

Da Gurls being sensible. You should see what they were like off camera. The angelic smiles mean nothing!

Who's the blonde?

EFKS Ranui Church Youth Outing16/5/08

Yes history was made tonight when the EFKS Ranui youth had our first outing as a youth group to the fantabulous Lincoln Rd's 10-pin bowling alley!

The other punters didn't know what hit them when the Ranui youth converged on the bowling lanes ready to do the damage...to the alleys and to the 'classy'members of our party who decided they needed to win and c..h..e..a..t..e..d (yeah Richard, Ria, Alice and Cilla - I saw you!) and you STILL didn't win!

Hehehe, in all seriousness, I WON team 3's lane (and that's all the counted)

Congratulations TINI from team 1 AND TUI from team 3 for your outstanding success against those supposed 'champions' of 10-pin bowling who you annhialated! hehehehe

All in all, 17 Ranui-sters turned up - Al, So'o, Sabrina, Tui, Jada, Rob, Tara, Lima, Pusa, Richie, Eko, Cilla, Ria, Nita, Tintin, Saua and yours truly and it was great to see a great turnout in a short space of time.

Once more, we all headed to Maccas (except Rob and So'o who preferred vegetarian from Burgerfuel and hearty KFC like a true Islander!) and thanks to the posers (yes everyone except Al, yours truly, Rob and Brina) our camera's memory went into overload - and we have the proof!

Actually, I think the boys had more fun at the Maccas CHILDRENS' playground than they had at bowling (go figure)...come to think of it, I think I know where we're gonna head for the next outing...

Well done troops, tonight's success bodes well for future events.

This Sunday we're hoping to discuss a little more the types of actitivites our youth want to take part in, so that everyone has a chance to express their thoughts on how we can expand and improve on future events! Also Rob will touch base with everyone regarding this brand new website - Go Ranui Youth!

Blessings be on all of you!
